The Confederacy of Dunces Lines Up Against Beck

A senile racist who used to represent Washington DC in Congress says that the Tea Party and the Ku Klux Klan are one and the same.

“We are going to take on the barbarism of war, the decadence of racism, and the scourge of poverty, that the Ku Klux — I meant to say the Tea Party,” Walter Fauntroy told a news conference today at the National Press Club. “You all forgive me, but I — you have to use them interchangeably.”

Fauntroy attempted to explain the comparison to white supremacists by saying that organizers behind the “Restoring Honor” rally are the same people who cut audio cables from a sound system the night before the historic March on Washington and the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech at the Lincoln Memorial.

I tend to doubt that. If cables were cut before the MLK rally forty-six years ago, the guys who cut them are probably dead or hooked to oxygen tanks. I don’t they’ll be going to the Glenn Beck 8/28 thing.

I am torn. I’d like to go to it, but my church is having a baptism for a new family that’s joining us that Saturday.¬† I think I’ll be going to the baptism.

Not a Tea Partier.
